About Floradiem

Floradiem is a free daily plant identification game. Each day it shows photos of one plant, fungus, lichen, seaweed or slime mold photographed in British Columbia, Canada, and you work down the tree of life — kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus and species — picking from four options at each rank. Every answer comes with short notes on what sets that group apart, so each puzzle is a small botany lesson.

A wrong pick doesn't end the game: the option turns red with its notes and you try again at the same rank for reduced points. Puzzles from the past week can be replayed as practice, and Unlimited mode serves random species from research-grade iNaturalist observations worldwide, or narrowed to a place, an iNaturalist user or a project. Every puzzle you solve grows your own tree of life, with your points beside each species. Sign in to keep your stats across devices and see how your score compares with other players.
